When the redcap soaks its cap in new blood, all degrees of tiredness are instantaneously eliminated. A redcap that succumbs to tiredness dissolves to dust.
As previously stated, oni feel they are superior to most other species. Oni often have ogre or orc followers who, having never experienced magic before, may see oni as gods deserving of adoration. They, like the ogres, form alliances with other terrible creatures. Oni seldom surrender to other species, only serving a master if it is profitable or offers a sumptuous, well-defended dwelling. An oni may also serve a wizard or a hag in return for magical objects, since oni are fascinated by magic. The oni, on the other hand, would never consider itself inferior to such beings, having served them of its own desire and for its own personal advantage. The oni will, at most, see itself and its "master" as equals. Despite their pride, oni see one race as superior to them: giants. Oni (and other giantkin such as ettins and fomorians) are members of the ordning, the lowest caste in the giants' complicated social organization.

Following the fall of the oni, many civilizations viewed oni as beings of evil and devastation, wreaking havoc on the land and people that surround them. While some oni try to defy this image, they are nevertheless despised in the same way as the rest of their family, leading many oni to live a life of perpetual fleeing and travel.
