The video game 2021 Scarlet Nexus is an action role-playing game released by Bandai Namco Entertainment that was developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Tose. On June 25, 2021, it was published on Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S. Critics gave the game mostly favorable reviews, with praise for the fighting but criticism for the side quests.
Scarlet Nexus, with its stunning futuristic look and simplified combat system that mixes fast-paced action with strategic preparation, intends to alter the way players experience Japanese RPGs,â stated Stephen Akana, Senior Brand Manager for Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. Scarlet Nexus combines years of game production expertise with the thrill and creative flexibility of the power behind the next generation of home console systems, led by an extraordinarily skilled team at Bandai Namco Studios, including personnel from fan-favorite hit Tales of Vesperia. Scarlet Nexus will be available for the Xbox Series X and Xbox One, and it will use Smart Delivery to guarantee that you always play the greatest version of the games you own for your system, across generations.
At the time, this seemed to be not just a significant acquisition for Xbox, but also an unexpected one. After all, character action games with anime-inspired aesthetics are usually seen on PlayStation systems. In fact, numerous games of this kind have avoided the Xbox platform entirely throughout the years. In other words, although this isn't as huge a success for Xbox as some had anticipated, it's still a win for the Xbox brand and its players who prefer games of this kind. At the time of publication, it is unknown when the cross-gen game from former "Tales of" creators will be released, but we do know it will cost $60 and feature Xbox Smart Delivery. In other words, if you purchase the game on Xbox One, you will be able to play it on Xbox Series X after you upgrade from current-gen to next-gen.
While this announcement provided our first glimpse at the action game, we already know that it will use Xbox's Smart Delivery system, which means that regardless of whatever Xbox machine you purchase Scarlet Nexus for, you will be able to play the greatest version of the game on any console you have. So if you purchase it on Xbox One and then upgrade to Series X, you'll receive the Series X version for free. There's no word yet on whether Scarlet Nexus will be released on other platforms, although the game's Twitter account seems to hint it'll be an Xbox exclusive, based on the header picture. We've contacted Bandai for clarification.
