FNF was first published on October 5, 2020, as part of the Ludum Dare 47 game jam, a game creation competition run by Newgrounds. Initially giving a lesson, two weeks, and six songs, the rhythm game in which we play as boyfriend was a big hit, and its content has since been extended to include five more weeks, fifteen songs, and other characters. Its open-source nature also allowed for the production of various modifications created by the community, which helped to expand the realm of the musical combat game even more. Friday Night Funkin' may be downloaded from itch.io to help developer ninjamuffin99.
