When I apply highlights, I also add a few untidy strands. We've all struggled with unkempt hair, right? Another thing I like to do is make my lashes and brows translucent. You may simply do this by locking the lineart layer and then coloring with a color that is darker or lighter than the hair. Try it out; it depends on your hair color and if your lineart is set to multiply or not.
I used to, and still do, have a bad tendency of sketching a lot of detail. Just to point out that when zoomed out, you can't even see the tiny detail you draw for around 10-15 minutes. Be wary of them. Always keep the broad picture in mind and only include details that are apparent from a distance. It's pointless to sketch something amazing that's only visible when you zoom really in. Doesn't that make sense? I often zoom in and out to test whether anything is visible or not. You'll quickly realize what size is appropriate for a detail.
Here's a diagram that summarizes the loomis head method's facial dimensions. I included a scale to indicate that the distance between the eyes is equal to the length of one eye. The ear clearly rests between the eyes and nose and will be higher or lower depending on the tilt of the head. When the head tilts up, the ears become lower than the eyes, and when the head tilts down, the eyes become higher than the ears. Here's a diagram that summarizes the head's dimensions in respect to the ribcage (upper torso). The diagram depicts a female torso and ribcage, although the female ribcage is somewhat smaller and shorter than the male ribcage. The distance between the top of the head and the pit of the neck in men is nearly the same as the length of the ribcage!

You don't have to draw every strand like that (but feel free to do so if you like! ), only a couple will do to create the desired effect, and the back may be basic.
