Tokyo Ghoul: Jack is a prequel that follows Kishou Arima and Taishi Fura as they search for a ghoul named Lantern who wears a pumpkin on his head. It was released digitally in August 2014 and consisted of seven chapters. On September 30, 2015, an OVA based on it was published. RC (Red Children) cells: These are cells that occur in both humans and ghouls, but are significantly more prevalent in ghouls. They flow like blood but may become quite firm, like "liquid muscles." A ghoul often replenishes Rc cells by consuming humans and/or other ghouls. Kakuhou: is a sack-like organ found solely in ghouls. The kakuhou's function is to store Rc cells.
