While a sun-kissed Langa is first perplexed and unresponsive, Reki rattles him into participating in the little roleplay. Langa grips Reki and says in a male tone, âDon't worry, bae, I'll defend you.â Shadow's little joke is amusing, and their theatrical hug is sweet. The beach episode of Sk8: The Infinity is full of charming moments, such as Reki's botched effort at flirting with a lady and when Langa rescues him from a terrible fall by catching him on his skateboard. Their roleplay gets the prize, but the other moments are worthy of attention.

While at work, Reki meets his new classmate Langa Hasegawa, a half-Canadian, half-Japanese lad with no skating experience. Langa is eager for money. When they are both instructed by Reki's employer to see "S," they fall into problems and are forced into a bet that demands Langa to skate in a race.
